What we aim for

We aim to meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA. That is the standard referenced by Australian government accessibility guidance.

Conformance status

This website currently partially conforms with WCAG 2.2 Level AA. We have completed automated and keyboard checks and are continuing manual testing with screen readers and different zoom and text settings. This statement was last reviewed on 4 October 2026.

What is built in

  • Keyboard access. Every link, button, form field and menu can be reached and operated with a keyboard alone, and the focus indicator is always visible.
  • A skip link. The first thing a keyboard or screen reader user reaches is a link that jumps straight past the navigation to the page content.
  • Text contrast. Body text and headings are checked against the surface they actually sit on, including our textured and photographic backgrounds, and are kept at or above the AA ratio.
  • Reduced motion. If your device is set to reduce motion, animations, the moving reviews strip and the homepage photo carousel stop. Nothing depends on movement to be understood.
  • Pausable movement. The reviews strip and homepage photo carousel have visible pause controls. The reviews strip also stops on hover and keyboard focus.
  • Real text, not pictures of text. You can zoom to 200% or larger, or use your own fonts and colours, without losing content.
  • Descriptive alternative text on photographs, and decorative graphics are hidden from screen readers so they do not add noise.
  • Labelled forms. Every field has a visible label, and errors are announced rather than shown only by colour.
  • No scroll hijacking and no automatic redirects or pop-ups.

Known limitations

  • Some photographs carry longer descriptions than others. We are working through them.
  • Documents we send by email (for example a support proposal) are not yet guaranteed to be screen-reader friendly. Ask us and we will provide the content in a format that works for you — including large print, plain text, or read aloud over the phone.

Tell us if something does not work

If any part of this site is difficult or impossible for you to use, we want to know — and we will help you get what you need another way in the meantime.

Tell us the page, what you were trying to do, and what happened. We aim to respond within two business days.

Other formats and communication support

We can provide information in other formats on request. If you need an interpreter, you can call the Translating and Interpreting Service on 131 450 and ask them to call us. If you are deaf or have a hearing or speech impairment, you can contact us through the National Relay Service at accesshub.gov.au.

We show our respect and acknowledge Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples who are the traditional custodians of this land. We pay respects to their elders past and present.
